Despite item description, does not work on 16-50mm lenses
Advertised as being for the Sony 16-50mm kit lens as found on the a6000 cameras. Doesnt work on that lens at any focal range. There is a very defined X where the two polarizers don't block light across the entire sensor at 16mm that becomes a distorted blob of darkness in the center of the image at 50mm. I learned later, to my chagrin, that this is common on variable ND filters with wide-angle lenses. I've only ever used fixed density filters before, so this was new to me.I'm sure this filter will work fine on something deeper than maybe 60mm, as it was almost good at 50mm for me. But I'd not use this on anything less than 60mm on an aps-c or MFT camera. The filter is advertised as working on a Sony 16-50mm lens, and that is not accurate at all. Even 50mm is too wide for this so for less than 60mm, you're better off using a fixed density filter instead.
