Got as a "Toy" but has proved to be useful
We live on 10 acres and I was planning to put this camera out on the trail to see what kind of critters are out there. However, I started using it to see what type of critter is using my condenser as their home. It ended up to be a family of pack rats who unfortunately prevented our HVAC unit from switching over to AC because they chewed one of the wires. After that rather expensive visit I started trying to prevent them from getting inside. First tried a sonic repellent - what a joke, they would just climb over it. Then I tried stuffing screen inside their portal - it helped for a while but then they started tearing it apart when a cat showed up in one of the pictures. I finally bought some copper mesh which seems to have done the trick so far. They show up but won't step on the mesh to get to their stuffed portal. I plan to keep putting the camera out for a while longer to make sure the mesh continues to keep them out.
