Poor quality nighttime pictures
I found the camera relatively easy to set up. Customer service was very good and responsive. My problem is that the camera does not take very clear images at night. This is when most of the critters I'm trying to keep track of (mountain lions,bears etc.) are out and about. I strapped a much cheaper non-cellular camera right underneath this one to test for night picture quality. The cheaper camera took excellent pictures at 1:00 am while the XP4 didn't even pick up the images. I tested this with many different settings. If you want a good camera for daylight usage,it's very good. The pictures are excellent. But it's not for nighttime. I bought the solar panel and that has worked very well although I agree that the mounting hardware is not what you'd hope for. Also I would like an app. which notifies me when a picture is taken. With this one you have to keep checking email. I couldn't get the texting feature to work.Also,if you want to use more than one camera, you need separate data plans for each camera.
