I am not an extreme sports devotee that is always looking to record some new trick or daredevil move, but I do like to get some first person video footage with my experiences. So I was looking for an affordable, versatile action cam that was waterproof, could take high resolution still images, and video, and a few other key features like timelapse, stabilization, and a selfie screen. GoPro was a little too expensive especially for the number of times I would use it, but the Campark v40 was a great alternative.This camera is waterproof, even without a separate case, at least for light water usage (rain, pool, beach, snow), so I don’t have to worry about it getting wet. If I was diving or snorkeling, I might want to use the included waterproof case, which keeps it dry to greater depths.The other thing to note, as others have pointed out is that this camera has a pretty sturdy build quality, and doesn’t feel plasticy. However, that comes at the price of a little extra weight. I don’t find it particularly heavy, but it might add a little inertia to your setup, or feel a little heavy if you are holding it on an extension for a long time.In addition to the waterproof case, the camera comes with a ton of accessories, connectors, an extra battery, and a wireless wrist controller. This makes it easy to take pictures or start/stop video recording when your camera is in a hard to reach location to easily press the shutter.The only complaint is that I couldn’t get the camera connected to my iphone. It is supposed to connect to an app to allow you to quickly and easily share images and videos, but I couldn’t get it to work. I just take the memory card out and plug it into my PC instead. Not a dealbreaker for me.If you are looking for an affordable action cam with some great image quality, plenty of features, and accessories and that feels like it will survive your ‘action’, then this is for you.

Campark V40

The remote, when it works, only works within a couple of feet of the camera. The range is advertised as 33 feet, but I can not get it to work even 5 feet away. I have missed out on things I wanted to video due to being more then a couple of feet away, but much less then 33 feet. Very disappointed as I got this camera for the remote and wifi. I can not get my android phone to stay connected more then a few seconds with this camera. Is it my phone or the camera? Either way, I can not use either the remote or the wifi, which is the principle reason I bought this model.I do love the 170 degree angle lens. The videos are very clear. I have had the camera on a stable surface so I can not comment on the Image stabilization feature.

After much research I purchased the CAMPark v40 to mount on my motorcycle and take some road trip videos. The camera is small and feature rich and fits most GoPro accessories so it was a no brainer...especially since the price was right and is equivalent to the more expensive GoPro. So far I am pretty happy with the V40.

For the money and this is one of the best action cameras you can get. I do like the front facing LCD screen, and all the accessories it comes with. I got a new GoPro a few months ago and it doesn’t come with hardly anything. In most circumstances, for normal users, the image quality on this things going to be just fine as compared to the GoPro. For the money it’s an amazing deal.

Great camera, only the ismart DV app sucks

Just got it today to use for my drum videos. So far it looks great. I just did a test run and the 4K runs really smooth. I really like the front display which helps me while playing drums view the correct angle. It comes with quite a bit of accessories and I'm rather satisfied!

I love the size and I love the fact that it has a front screen. You can’t beat it for the price. I can’t wait to take it on vacation and test it out. I have been wanting a small camera like this for long time but I’m not paying a couple hundred dollars for a GoPro. The reviews on this one is great and so far everything I’ve tried has turned out perfect
