Almost everything I could say about this ND filter is positive. I bought for my slr magic 35mm lens and it does the job. The only thing the case it came in was slightly cracked but the product was in fine condition. Especially since I live in a very bright location this will help shooting during the day. (would've been 5 star if not for the cracked case)

Overall quality seems fine, but Sigma 30mm f1.4 users beware: You will NOT be able to fit the stock lens hood over the filter! This means you'll either have to put the hood on first, then finagle the filter on somehow or forgo the lens hood altogether. Neither option is particularly awesome...

Love this variable ND filter. It will help me greatly adjust the amount of light with my Nikon D700 and older, manual focus, F1.8 , 2.0 and 2.8 lenses, allowing me to keep the aperture large (for nicely rendered backgrounds), while shooting in bright areas, thus helping keep the shutter speed low (1/250th or below) to allow flash synchronization to provide fill light on the subjects face. Without this type of variable ND filter, while shooting at large apertures, the shutter speed would be up over 1/800th of a second (no flash sync possible), and having to switch between fixed value ND filters is tedious, with this variable ND, just adjust it until you get the shutter speed you need.

Having used regular/fixed K&F Concept ND filters previously with great results, I was invited to try out this variable ND filter and was provided one for review. My usual use for NDs is taking photos of moving water, mostly waterfalls, using the ND to smooth out the water to give it a misty/milky look.Often cheap filters are made from plastic and resin, but these K&F filters are metal frame with glass elements which is a great bonus, they feel nice and solid. The filter was slightly larger than expected as it's advertised as 'slim' - but there was no vignetting evident. The action of turning the filter to adjust the strength was nice and smooth with the right amount of resistance.I was happy with the results from the test shots I took of a local waterfall, the ND did the correct job. There was very little colour cast that I could see, nothing that would be noticeable to the eye for most people, I shoot RAW so it was an easy fix in post processing.Full strength did produce a stronger cast, but i would suggest buying a dedicated 10 stop if you need this level of ND darkness. The only reason I've dropped a star from this review is because of the lack of a scale on the filter, this makes it difficult to measure and repeat settings when moving around, or shooting at a different time. An element of trial and error is needed - which can add time to getting the right shot. Hopefully K&F will rectify this in the near future as it's an easy update.Overall, this is a great piece of kit for the price if you want to experiment with slowing the shutter down in daylight without needing multiple filters or paying out for high end equipment straight away.**I received a discounted product in return for this review, but the above review is open, honest and unbiased**

ND works great for an inexpensive filter. Unfortunately it adds a ton of reflection and glare. Not bad for the price, but since you likely use them to tone down bright scenes you will get a lot if undesirable reflections.

Great filter! Love how you can adjust how dark you want it. Wish the protected case that came with it was more snug on the filter.
