I work to design software every day. It’s my job to understand how software works and what’s expected of it. This game camera was one of the most complicated pieces of hardware/software I’ve ever tried to configure. It took me, and I am not exaggerating, roughly three hours to figure out how to connect it to the included SIM card, and configure it to the settings that I needed. My use case was to trigger at least one shot per day taken without use of the motion censor. My goal is to track water levels of a small creek on my land throughout the Winter/Spring. To do so required figuring out how to setup the timer duration and intervals. That was a bit of a nightmare. My goal was to take a picture every four hours around the clock.Instead, what I’m getting now is a picture at midnight, followed by a picture for the next eight hours, and then the occasional motion captures in that time period. The only usable pictures are at the end, around 7:00am. The night vision works, but it’s hardly sufficient for tracking water levels. My goal now is to go back down and try to mess with it some more, in hopes of having a few day pictures captured. My suspicion is that it is taking pictures around the clock, but only sending me texts for the first eight hours of the day. Again, I don’t know though, because it’s so hard to figure out. It’s been a frustrating experience, but the reason I gave it four stars is because it does accomplish the task I gave it. I needed 1 picture per day texted to my Verizon cellphone, showing me a specific shot on my land. It’s doing that, and it’s working well. One note, I bought Costco AA Kirkland batteries, and in the current climate of temperatures in the single and teen digits (Fahrenheit), I’m guessing the batteries will last me 2-3 weeks. Since it takes 12 batteries to stock the thing, that will start to add up over time, assuming $5/month in battery maintenance. With all that said, I’d probably still buy this again, since I couldn’t find anything better on the market. I just hope they put some time into figuring out how to have better software, or at least a better owners manual.

You are asking me to review before I have actually had time to play with it. Initial response is fantastic. Will return after I have had time to use it adequately

Needed something to use until we could obtain Internet at our home site for security purposes. Great purchase and can't wait to use it later on for an actual game camera on our property.

This camera is receiving terrible reviews on some outlets. Most critiques are related to the difficulty of setting up the camera. I encountered a few issues myself, including the Android App not allowing my username/password to be used for linking the App with my online account (containing my sim card number). This is important because it allows you to control the camera remotely etc. You will probably encounter a similar issue and become frustrated. Don't!The App works much better on iPads and iPhones. If your Android App fails, try your iPad or iPhone. Everything else seems to work well. I will revise my post with images after more experimenting.*Update* I've taken my first pictures and have it set pretty well. The solar panel is charging normally and the camera is functioning almost flawlessly - including pictures flowing into my Android App. The pictures and video are excellent quality overall during the day, but the nocturnal images are slightly above average. The motion detector is good, but it is a little bit slow - don't forget to turn on or engage the PIR after you set it up. Right now, everything is working as expected and I will purchase another camera with the solar panel.P.S. I also had a question for tech support and received an immediate response. The owners care about their customers.*****update******* I encountered an issue with the camera not taking pictures or allowing remote control via the app. It would run normally for ~ 20 hours before it quit taking pictures and would not allow me remote control. I finally figured out that it was related to the default SMTP address. The camera works flawlessly now that I added my own SMTP address and am routing everything through servers.
Room for improvement, but I will buy again Room for improvement, but I will buy again Room for improvement, but I will buy again Room for improvement, but I will buy again
